Escape room with children: imaginative and not scary! (Gouda region)
"Isn't it too scary for my 10-year-old daughter?" "Will my 60-year-old father understand the puzzles?"
These are the questions we at Skunx Escape Rooms hear most often on the phone. And rightly so! When you plan a family outing, you don't want anyone crying in a corner or getting bored because the puzzles are too complicated.
Looking for an activity for a school holiday, a birthday or simply a Sunday afternoon with the family? Here is why an escape room (and specifically House of Nowhere) is a good idea.
1. Working together without screens At home everyone is often on their own phone. In our escape room in Houten you hand it in. For 60 minutes you truly depend on each other. We often see children solve puzzles much faster than their parents, because they think more creatively. Nothing is more fun for a child than being "smarter" than mum or dad!
2. Is House of Nowhere scary? No. Our room is exciting and atmospheric, but definitely not a thriller or horror. No actors chase you. We focus on mystery, imagination and a story. Suitable for anyone with a bit of imagination!
3. From what age? We recommend a minimum age of 8 years. Why? Not because of scariness, but because of the level of thinking.
- Tip: Coming with younger children? Let us know when you book! Our game master can adjust the hints and guidance a little so that even the youngest have moments of success.
4. Why Skunx is the family outing of the Gouda region (South Holland) Besides the room itself, parents often want practical convenience.
- We are located in Houten, close to the A27.
- You can park for free right at our door (no hassle with car parks in the town centre).
- Afterwards there is room to chat over a drink.
What others say about us:
Markweg on Escapetalk.nl: "This room is here to stay for a while. Very suitable for playing with families (also because of the theme, the puzzles and the storyline) or for introducing people to escape rooms. It is not a top-ten room, but definitely one you can book with confidence: for the good time you have there, the beautiful execution and the enthusiasm of the organisation."
Jimmy_de_haas on Escapetalk: "Looking for a fun room to play with the family? Then House of Nowhere is a very good choice as far as I'm concerned. Fun puzzles, good use of technology and, at least as important: a friendly, customer-focused host!"
