Terms of service

In these general terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:

• Skunx Escape Rooms B.V.: The company located at Oostbaan 676, 2841 ML Moordrecht, Chamber of Commerce number 93057632, reachable via info@skunxescaperooms.com and www.skunxescaperooms.com.
• Customer: The natural or legal person who enters into an agreement with Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. by making a booking via the website.
• Participant: Every person who takes part in an activity at the location of Skunx Escape Rooms B.V.

By placing a booking via www.skunxescaperooms.com you agree to these general terms and conditions.

1. Playing the escape room
Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. organises escape room activities in which groups of at least two (2) and at most five (5) people are locked in a room. The goal is to escape within 60 minutes by solving various riddles, puzzles and clues.

2. Taking part in the game

• The game is open to participants aged 8 and up.
  Participants under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The supervisor is responsible for the behaviour and safety of the minor.
• Groups of two (2) to five (5) people can take part. Supervisors are not counted. No further exceptions to this rule are made.
• Participants under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other narcotics will not be admitted. Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. reserves the right to refuse these persons and remove them from the premises without a refund.

3. For your safety
The escape room is equipped with emergency buttons and monitored via cameras and microphones to ensure the safety of participants. In an emergency, participants can leave the room immediately. It is not permitted to take personal belongings into the escape room; these must be stored in a locked locker. Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. is not liable for theft, loss of or damage to personal property.

4. Food and drink
Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. sells drinks and small snacks. It is not permitted to bring and consume your own food and drink.

5. Booking
Booking is mandatory and can only be done via www.skunxescaperooms.com
A booking must be made for the exact number of people taking part (minimum 2, maximum 5 people per game). For larger groups, please contact us via the website or by phone. No exceptions to this rule are made.

6. Start time
The time in the booking confirmation is the start time of the game. Please be present at least ten (10) minutes before the start for a short introduction. If you arrive late, participation cannot be guaranteed. Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. reserves the right to charge the full amount in case of late arrival.

7. Payment
Full payment must be made when booking. Prices on www.skunxescaperooms.com include 9% VAT.

8. Changes or cancellation

• A booking can be changed or cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours (2 days) before the booked game.
• For cancellations within 48 hours, the full amount will be charged.
• In case of force majeure (e.g. closure due to a pandemic), the booking will be converted into a credit voucher or moved to another date. Refunds are not possible.
• Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. reserves the right to change or cancel bookings in unforeseen circumstances. In that case a credit voucher will be offered or an alternative date proposed.

9. Liability
Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. is not liable for theft, loss of or damage to personal property. Participants must store personal belongings in a locked locker. The use of personal belongings during the game is not permitted. Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. is not responsible for injury to participants or fellow players over which it has no control. Participants must treat the property of Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. with respect and must not use excessive force.

10. Own risk
Participation in the activities is at your own risk. Physical injury or damage to clothing sustained during the game cannot be recovered from Skunx Escape Rooms B.V., as the company has no control over the movements of participants. Participants can leave the room via the emergency exit at any time.

11. Health conditions
Participants with medical conditions (such as claustrophobia, epilepsy or heart problems) must report this in advance. Participation is at their own responsibility.

12. Code of conduct
Participants must behave respectfully towards fellow players and staff. Aggressive, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate behaviour will lead to immediate removal without a refund.

13. Prohibited items
It is forbidden to bring sharp objects, weapons or other dangerous items into the escape room.

14. Intellectual property
It is forbidden to take photos, videos or other recordings in the escape room. The content of the escape room (puzzles, riddles, storylines) is the intellectual property of Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. and may not be shared or reproduced.

15. Instructions
All instructions from staff must be followed at all times. In case of non-compliance, Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. reserves the right to remove participants from the premises without a refund.

16. Damage
Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. reserves the right to recover damage to its property from the person who caused it. In case of misuse of the fire alarm, damage to fire prevention equipment or theft, the police will be called.

17. Complaints procedure
Complaints about the service can be submitted in writing via info@skunxescaperooms.com. Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. aims to handle complaints within 14 days.

18. Data protection
Skunx Escape Rooms B.V. processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data is used exclusively for bookings and communication. Camera footage and sound recordings in the escape room are used for safety purposes only and are not stored unless necessary for handling an incident. 19. Applicable law
These general terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Rotterdam.
